Who we are
Like most CRGs, the CGCRG has among its members the following and they are based at the Wolfson Centre,Royal United Hospital, Bath.
- Chris Williams, Co-ordinating Editor, who has overall editorial responsibility.
- Clare Jess and Gail Quinn, Review Group Co-ordinators (RGCs), dedicated to supporting reviewers in getting their reviews published on the Cochrane Library.
- Anne Oestmann, Trials Search Co-ordinator (TSC), who organises the handsearching (prospective and retrospective) of medical journals for reports of clinical trials, and takes responsibility for the Group's Specialised Register of Trials.
The following members are based in their own workplaces.
Editors, from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds to represent the various interests of the Group, take responsibility for individual reviews.
- Comments & Criticisms Editor, Position vacant - who is responsible for ensuring that external comment on protocols and reviews made via the Cochrane Library is forwarded to the relevant author(s) and acted upon appropriately.
- Reviewers – who conduct the systematic reviews, usually in groups of two to six people.
- Statistical Advisor - Heather Dickinson, who supports the Group and individual reviewers.
- Peer Reviewers - members representing individual topics who comment on protocols and reviews during the editorial process.
- Consumer representatives - to ensure that the interests of patients and carers are catered for.
- Handsearchers - a team of volunteers who, under the guidance of the TSC, have methodically scanned the journals for trial reports. This is now carried out by the TSC.
- Ordinary members - people who may not at the present time be actively involved in reviews, but who have an interest in the work and who may help the group in other ways, for example promoting our work.
Although we make every attempt to keep material up-to-date and relevant, we welcome suggestions for improvements. Site managed by Clare Jess and Gail Quinn.
